How to Play Mortal Kombat X

Hello this is the Night owl and this week I am going to tell you how to play Mortal Kombat X for you first time players. Mortal Kombat X is a fighting game that came out back in April 2015. It was developed by NetherRealm Studios and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. Mortal Kombat X is still being played to this day online and in tournaments by players across the country. The game has a total of 24 playable characters plus 9 DLC characters.

In order to play you need to understand a new feature that is in the game called the variation system. This system gives each character three different play styles. For example, the character Cassie Cage her three variations are Hollywood, Brawler, and Spec ops. The Hollywood variation has Cassie taking after Johnny Cage, wearing sunglasses during battle and adopting his groin-punch move, in addition to using her handguns both on the ground and in midair. Spec Ops features a military-style offensive similar to that of Sonya, featuring attacks such as air strikes with missiles and lasers, which she calls in through an earpiece. For Brawler, Cassie performs takedowns and tackles, as well as midair tosses.

Preforming combos and getting good to compete online will take time and practice, but I will give you fundamental steps to do so.

Step 1: Make sure your controls align with the characters actions. You can check the moves list to see which button does what and change them around to what you feel most comfortable with.

Step 2: Select a character that matches your play style and practice with them. It is also good to have more then one character that you are good with.

Step 3: Be aware of stage intractables. Mortal Kombat X has many intractable  objects on stage that can be used to your or your opponents advantage.

Step 4: Do not mash buttons. During a match don’t just mash buttons it can lead to your defeat. So keep calm and stay focus.

Step 5: Keep practicing. Just because you won a few matches against some people online does not mean you slack off. If you want to get good you keep on fighting.
